"Liberty is very precious and something to protect," former congressman Ron Paul said to a crowd of more than 2,000 in the U. of Florida's Stephen C. O'Connell Center Monday night in Gainesville. He spoke about the values of liberty and individualism. The Accent Speaker's Bureau invited Dr. Paul to speak to the University of Florida in an effort to showcase the diversity of political viewpoints. The Chairman of Campaign for Liberty and former Presidential candidate addressed students and supporters on a wide range of issues, including taxes and economics in the U.S. today. Rand Paul 2016 Watch - April 8th thru April 14th

Rand Paul dominated political talk this week, as he took the message of individual liberty to historically black schools- Howard and Simmons. The left was particularly peeved (and publicly nasty) by the Senator's attempt to reach out to an unconventional libertarian constituency. The MSNBC pundits were particularly outraged by the Senator's divergence from the liberal's ordained version of historical events. Democrats=Good, Republicans=Racist, No? I would be willing to bet that- if they took a momentary truth serum- the Democrat operatives resent the fact that hundreds of black students came out to hear from the Senator. It was a sign that African-American loyalty to the Democrats may not be as impenetrable as previously thought. Rand could have just come to the universities and laid out the non-partisan pitch for liberty in all spheres, as his father did back in February 2012 at the Little Rock Baptist Church in Detroit (too bad he didn't receive 1/100th of the media coverage that Rand received). But for better or for worse, Sen. Paul instead made a gesture on behalf of all Republicans. Listen closely to the progressive pundits in the following audio: they have no interest in improving race relations in this country. They thrive because of a political climate of fear, division, and intimidation. Only a culture of individual liberty, personal responsibility, and social tolerance will take race relations to the next level- but then why would we need a massive federal government? Politics of Freedom Update - April 6th thru April 12th

Last week was another busy one for the Doctors Paul, as both the father and the son were on the road promoting liberty to youth constituencies at universities across the country. Having just spoke at the Midwest Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati, former Rep. Ron Paul spoke at Oberlin College outside of Cleveland, OH and took a detour to join his friend Rep. John Duncan at a fundraiser in Knoxville. Sen. Rand Paul brought the libertarian Republican brand to two historically black colleges; namely, Howard University in Washington DC and Simmons College in Louisville. Bust most importantly, Dr. Paul announced the advent of the Ron Paul Curriculum for homeschooling parents and their children along with the creation of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity. Ron's ideas will clearly continue on long after his time on earth is over! Ron Paul brought his message of balanced federal budgets and non-interventionism in foreign policy to the Knox County Republican faithful Friday night for one of the largest crowds ever to attend a Lincoln Day dinner in Knoxville. The former Presidential Candidate joined his friend and colleague Rep. John Duncan in front of a crowd of at least 750 attendees at Rothchild’s Catering and Conference Center. A spirited full house greeted former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul in Oberlin College’s Finney Chapel on Sunday evening as a part of the college’s Convocation Series. Dr. Paul came through Oberlin on a speaking tour to give a lecture, “Liberty Defined,” from Paul’s 2011 book of the same name. The retired congressman enthusiastically extolled the virtues of small government, limited regulation, personal property rights and the resurgence of an ethos of government that promoted “individual liberty protected equally” for all people. So, it looks like Senator Rand Paul has pulled back his media availability significantly over the last week. After all, he's probably talked to nearly every pundit in the business since his historic filibuster. The doctor is under heavy scrutiny from all sides given his sudden media prominence. The liberal media is on the attack, as are the hardcore social conservatives- who were quick to pick up on what they viewed as his soft immigration, marriage, and abortion policies. Moreover, the Senator is not getting a whole lot of love from the libertarians, either. Since there were few interviews over the last week, I've posted some audio that I missed the first time around throughout the month of March. Dr. Ron Paul's itinerary has really began to fill up after a couple of months of rest. The Congressman's radio minute is airing in markets across the country, and he now has several more dates scheduled on university campuses over the next several weeks. Over the last few weeks, the honorary chairman of the Campaign for Liberty has spoke at George Washington University, at the Manning Conference in Ottawa, at Financial Adviser Magazine's Retirement Symposium in Orlando, at the Sovereign Man Conference in Santiago, Chile, the CAL summit in Calgary, and now at the Homeschooling Convention in Cincinnati. Now, Rep. Paul has never gotten the media coverage he has deserved. Unfortunately, he receives even less press now that he is no longer running for President and has retired from the Congress! I haven't had nearly the amount of Ron Paul coverage that I had hoped to post for you all. Luckily, Rand Paul has been a fixture in the headlines, and Reps. Amash and Massie are really worth listening to. Additionally, I will continue to post news analysis and commentary from voices that are prominent to the liberty movement. Rand Paul 2016 Watch - March 25th thru March 31st

Just because Rand Paul cut back on his broadcast interviews this week doesn't mean that he didn't make any news headlines! To the chagrin of the neocons and the advocates of right-wing social engineering, it is becoming increasingly clear that Senator Paul is an early frontrunner for the 2016 Republican nomination. Likewise, the usual suspects on the left are in total demonization/marginalization mode. The media is busy reacting to the Senator's most recent 5 year balanced budget proposal, his pro-life personhood amendment, and his plan for comprehensive immigration reform. But towards the end of the week, Sen. Paul has made yet another splash in the legislative process with a filibuster on the Obama administration's gun control initiatives. Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be another old-fashioned talking filibuster, but rather a filibuster of the procedural variety that will require a bill to receive a 60 vote super-majority in the Senate. Ann Coulter (IMHO the modern day female version of Morton Downey Junior) has joined Bill Krytol on the attack against Dr. Paul's foreign policy of moderation, as well as his ambitions for higher office. Unfortunately, its getting harder and harder to find Ron Paul specific news, even when he's out and about speaking to crowds. Very little multimedia of Dr. Paul's speaking engagements have been available since the man signed on with the Greater Talent Network, and there must be a no video policy in place. On Saturday, the former Congressman spoke at the Sovereign Man conference in Santiago, Chile- and no video of this speech seems to exist as of yet. Sen. Rand Paul 2016 Watch - March 18th thru March 24th

It should not be a surprise that after an incredibly positive week of media coverage for Senator Rand Paul, the doctor is dealing with a bit of liberal/neocon/establishment blowback in reaction to his rapid prominence on the national stage. Of course, someone will always be offended when a US Senator comes out to lead on virtually every debate of national significance! The Senator not only reintroduced his office's five year proposal for balancing the federal budget, he also weighed in publicly on controversial issues like immigration, marriage, and abortion. It seems as if the Senator is not interested in cultivating a narrow, partisan constituency- but rather putting forward solutions for all varieties of national problems. Therefore, it shouldn't surprise us that many of the individuals who held their tongue on the drone filibuster are coming out swinging on other issues of disagreement. Unfortunately, so many voters enjoy being pandered to and being told what they want to hear, rather than being offered actual solutions that could be the cornerstone for bipartisan compromise. Another week of liberty-related news for all the subscribers out there. Senator Rand Paul is coming off of his first victory in the CPAC straw-poll- showing that he has, in fact, taken over the liberty wing of the Republican Party. This week also marked the 10 year anniversary of the Iraq War, which so many of us supported at one time in our ignorance. The question is, does the average Republican voter recognize the colossal failure of the Bush administration's preemptive regime change policy? Ron Paul's America was scheduled to begin airing on stations across the country this week, though I haven't yet seen or heard any confirmation that the radio minutes have been played anywhere.
