Ron Paul is the Choice of the Troops! - Sounds from the Rally, March, and Afterparty

On Monday the 20th of February, Adam Kokesh, Nathan Cox,  and the grassroots Veterans for Ron Paul group held a rally and march in support of Ron Paul's campaign for President. At least 500 veterans and active duty soldiers traveled to the nation's capitol to visibly express their support for Dr. Paul- the Presidential candidate who far and away receives the most campaign donations from the active duty military (over 70%, including Pres. Obama). Many veterans and prominent liberty activists took to the stage at the rally to vocally support the Congressman, and express their displeasure at the bipartisan consensus that is the foreign policy of the United State government. An impressive sight, the battalion sized element then marched to the White House, stood in silence to honor all those who have died since Obama has taken office, and then turned "about face"- signifying their repudiation of the Nobel-laureate's militaristic policies. I have compiled a collection of audio from the day's events for your listening enjoyment, including: speeches, interviews, and music from the afterparty (posted in chronological order). Some of the audio at the rally is less than perfect (they seemed to struggle with feedback/distortion in the PA system at times). Of course, the national media largely ignored the gathering (save a few web articles and the like)- wouldn't want to upset the corporate narrative and the left-right paradigm. RevolutionPAC: Grassroots Activism on the Ground in Iowa

The RevolutionPAC has been doing an excellent job on the ground in Iowa- getting out Congressman Ron Paul's unique message, informing the public about the true records of Dr. Paul's opponents, and organizing all types of grassroots activities in advance of the caucuses. Tuesday is the big day, and many hours of tireless work have gone into trying to make it an unprecedented success on which the campaign can build momentum. RevolutionPAC has created some much needed (and stunningly effective) ads- the likes of which the campaign would never put out. During a stretch when the media demonization is from all quarters- RevPac helps to put this man's life into perspective. They have also been on the ground reporting on the various activities by the grassroots- as posted on their YouTube Channel. Ron Paul Walks Out on CNN’s Gloria Borger (12/21/2011)

In case you missed it, Ron Paul had a run in with CNN's Gloria Borger on the campaign trail, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. This is the complete audio of the interview, which was never fully broadcast (CNN got the kind of response they hoped for, and aired the clip over and over again). For the third time in two days (and three consecutive interviews) CNN reporters harped on these 20 year old newsletters- that have been thoroughly repudiated time and time again. Things get a bit testy, before the Congressman removes his microphone and walks out on the interview. CNN first aired the encounter (and Borger talked about the incident) on The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer (posted by Mediate.com). But an entire fifteen minutes were spent smearing Dr. Paul on a total hit piece aired during AC360- which I will not dignify by posting it here! Is CNN any better than MSNBC?

This record will not be easy to beat, as many who donated four years ago have been contributing since the campaign started in May. But our numbers have easily doubled since then, and Dr. Paul is within striking distance of the media's "top tier" darlings. Rep. Ron Paul with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl (12/7/2011)

Back in the capitol on Wednesday, Congressman Ron Paul spoke with Jonathan Karl during an interview for ABCNews.com, entitled: "The Forgotten Candidate: Ron Paul Gathers Momentum, Has Sights Set on Newt Gingrich." The two talked about the Paul campaign's growing momentum in Iowa and New Hampshire, and former House Speaker Gingrich's questionable leadership in the 1990's. The Congressman questions whether Newt seriously intends to cut spending and return Washington to a more limited government.

Ron Paul: Complete Interview for AARP 2012 Voters Guide

Ron Paul, The Liberty Movement, and Occupy Wall Street

The Occupy Wall Street movement has meant a lot of different things to a lot of different people, but one thing is for certain- the marginalization of the movement's goals and credibility has been promoted by the corporate media in a nearly identical way that was done to the tea-party! The media jumps on any populist movement, and then characterizes the group as fringe- so that other curious and angry citizens decide that they wouldn't be welcome at such demonstrations. The organizers (on behalf of the powers-that-be) then swoop in to co-opt the movement, to steer it in a very status-quo, partisan manner. Any thinking person should realize that Barack Obama needs such a movement to stand a chance at re-election. Nevertheless, the Ron Paul movement has attempted to coalesce, educate, and stand together with OWS. This file traces the last month of protest, through the eyes of liberty activists and prominent figures in the patriot movement. Includes lots of raw audio from the streets; discussions and debates ensue along the way. Hasn't history proven that the people, as a collective, never actually take ownership of the government they seek? The bureaucrats always become a privileged class, and tyranny ensues. On Wednesday, GOP presidential frontrunner Ron Paul joined the Monitor Breakfast for a conversation with reporters at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington DC. . The round-table style discussion covered a wide range of subjects, from the Congressman's libertarian philosophy, to the lack of media coverage, to the policy of the Federal Reserve, the candidacy of Gov. Jerry Doyle: A Principled Ally

In the few years since the 2008 campaign, many, many pundits have at ostensibly expressed support of Ron Paul, or at least shown a tacit acknowledgement of his proven wisdom and foresight (think Joe Scarborough, Tucker Carlson, Howard Stern, even Steve Forbes). But where are they now? Now that an actual campaign is underway once again, those voices have largely disappeared into the ether, if not turned hostile altogether. Well, over the last few weeks, radio host Jerry Doyle has weathered a storm for defending Ron Paul and challenging the neocon talkers, particularly Limbaugh and Hannity. Stations have apparently dropped his radio show for even daring to challenge the RINO establishment, and we should all get to know this principled conservative better, and support his efforts on behalf of the Congressman. He's independent, and an entertaining host to boot! Ron Paul 2012 Campaign Coverage - Friends and Allies Speak Out

Through the first few months of the 2012 presidential campaign, several candidates have stepped onto the scene, risen in the polls, and then promptly fallen back to the pack and out of favor. Gov. Rick Perry is the latest flash-in-the-pan, and his presence has largely been to the detriment of Mitt Romney! Only Ron Paul has consistently (slowly but surely) been rising in the polls. As it becomes ever more clear that Congressman Ron Paul is truly a top-tier candidate for the Republican nomination, establishment media are going all-in on their blatant exclusion from 2012 coverage, smear campaigns, and demagoguery. We have heard enough from them! In this file, hear from prominent allies like Tom Woods, Jack Hunter, Peter Schiff, and others who speak out in opposition to the many hit-pieces and falsehoods being propagated throughout the corporate media. American Spectator Hit Piece, Tom Woods Rebuttal

With the release of the latest AP poll, showing Rep. Ron Paul in the top three nationwide (and ahead of Michele Bachmann), the verdict is in! Ron Paul has now jumped into the top tier in the race for the GOP nomination, and it's freaking out the Republican establishment. Over the last week or so, former Reagan aide and author Jeffrey Lord has been on virtually all the prominent neoconservative radio shows, following The American Spectator's release of his bizarre hit piece, entitled: Ron Paul and the Neoliberal Reeducation Campaign. At first, the provocatively titled article contends that Dr. Paul is a closet radical leftist, cherry picking statements that bring to mind ideologues like Marx and Trotsky! But delving deeper (and Lord focuses here in his radio interviews), the piece is really an attempt at guilt-by-association, tying non-intervention to radicals of the past and a hatred for the Jewish state. There is very little concrete substance in Lord's article, more speculation of Dr. Paul's motives, and opportunities for said radio hosts to introduce racism into the debate. Just shameful!

Shootout at the Texas Corral: Gov. Rick Perry vs. Rep. Ron Paul

Rather than let all this compelling audio build up over several weeks, I will try to post related files as part of a series to cover particular controversies or topics of discussion. One of the more interesting story lines to come out of the race for the Republican nomination thus far, has been the emergence of two Texans on the campaign trail. The first being the most principled advocate of the Constitution, and uncompromising defender of individual liberty since America's founding generation- Dr. Ron Paul. The second being a groomed, establishment favorite, who made and broke a personal pledge to forgo running for President to appear as the reluctant candidate, drafted by the grassroots (and undeniably linked with Karl Rove and the Bush dynasty)- Governor Rick Perry. I don't believe for a second that it was Perry's idea to announce on the same day of the straw-poll, that was likely the call of Republican bigwigs. Now, we can't generally expect the mainstream media to take an unbiased look at these two candidates on their own merits and records, but some coverage and analysis has been out there, nonetheless. Here is what I have come across in the early going.

Veterans for Ron Paul 2012

If empire is more important to you than your own people, you need a reality check. New Hampshire Journal Interviews Ron Paul (8/26/2011)

While campaigning along the New Hampshire seacoast on Friday, Texas Congressman and Presidential candidate Ron Paul talked with the NH Journal's Amelia Chasse about the mainstream media's marginalization of his campaign. Bill O’ Reilly Attacks Ron Paul, TYT’s Cenk Uygur Responds

Rather than let all this compelling audio build up over several weeks, I will try to post related files as part of a series to cover particular controversies or topics of discussion. After the obvious, and well documented blackout of Ron Paul's candidacy following the virtual tie at the Ames straw poll, Fox News' anchor Bill O' Reilly took it upon himself to offer a "very kind invitation" to come on The Factor's so-called "no spin zone." In the absence of an immediate response from the campaign, the smiling demagogue welcomed political analyst and noted former Clinton advisor Dick Morris to offer a "fair and balanced" view of the dispute- and polling data that looks quite positive for the Paul camp. Note Morris' insistence that we must not count Herman Cain and Rick Santorum out of the race, while a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama! Surprisingly, it was The Young Turks' Cenk Uygur (former MSNBC host) who spoke out in defense of the Congressman's record of debating all challengers, and to call out O' Reilly's disingenuous invite and juvenile insults.

Ron Paul Talks With Newsmax.TV’s Ashley Martella (8/5/2011)

Congressman Ron Paul told Newsmax.TV's Ashley Martella that the debt-ceiling deal was a fraud, and takes issue with the claim that the deal includes actual cuts. The Texas lawmaker also says it is “discouraging” that many new members of Congress who were backed by the tea party voted in favor of the bill, the Budget Control Act of 2011.

The conversation focused on the 2012 campaign, and Dr. Paul's announcement that he will be retiring from the Congress, about the other candidates grabbing some of his ideas and about a potential candidate he's never met.
