Kurt and Dr. Paul discuss the spontaneous redefining of what money is for the individual with new forms of currency such as bitcoin, commodity banking, personal trade and barter with precious metals. Dr. Paul talks about legalizing parallel currencies in the US and why economics is the baseline of his message of Liberty. Dr. Paul also previews his upcoming speech in New York May 13th – 14th.

Former Rep. Ron Paul Meets with the Media in Knoxville, TN (4/12/2013)

Prior to delivering his remarks at the annual Lincoln Day Dinner for the Knox County Republican Party in Knoxville, TN, Ron Paul held an impromptu press conference with the attending media. Dr. Paul and Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. spoke a bit about their shared experience in the House of Representatives, then the two took some questions about the state of the GOP, the mood of the electorate and the current state of readiness of the US armed forces. In this week's Texas Straight Talk audio column, Dr. Paul reacts to Bill Krystol- who has been making the rounds in opposition to Rand Paul's victory at CPAC. The pope of neoconservatism has been using all the buzzwords and phrases to describe Ron's son- "neo-isolationist" and "running to the left of Barack Obama."  The truth is, the neocons have lost the hearts and minds of the American voter, and its only a matter of time until they become completely irrelevant. …Oh, Say, Can You See (that Drone)

The last several weeks have seen unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) make there way back into the news, as an Obama administration policy white paper was leaked to the press detailing a sketchy legal argument for the use of drones against American citizens. Both Ron and Rand Paul have been vocal opponents of this policy, as you have heard in the previous updates. This controversy has only ramped up in recent days due to John Brennan's pending nomination to head up the CIA. In his first confirmation hearing, Brennan- the US government's own 'Mr. Drone'- failed to articulate whether or not he felt Americans could be killed via drone here in America. As a result, Senator Paul has put a hold on Brennan's nomination until he gets some answers. This file contains commentary and conversation of this debate, as it has evolved over the last few weeks. This is the first installment of topical news coverage from a libertarian perspective. I'll post more whenever the news is compelling and plentiful. Gary Johnson: A Ron Paul Revolutionary?

Like many of you, I have come to the conclusion that former Governor Gary Johnson is the best remaining candidate to vote for in the general election. In my state, write-in candidates are only counted if the candidate has declared for that election- and chances are, the Congressman has no intention of doing that. Luckily, Gov. Johnson has gone above and beyond in his effort to reach out and gain support from Ron Paul supporters. Once the RNC was over, the Governor participated in an online town hall meeting specifically for Ron Paul supporters in order to earn their support and go on the record for issues most important to the liberty movement. We know that Gary is with us on most all of the issues of most importance, and as you will hear in the audio, he has clearly made himself familiar with the good Doctor's talking points on various issues. But the two men have their differences, which could be an issue for the Christian conservatives and strict non-interventionists among us. You'll have to talk a listen for yourself! Ron Paul 2012: The Hail Mary - Plans C, D, and E

Most of us have long ago had to accept the fact that Ron Paul will not be the 45th President of the United States. It's questionable if the man himself, ever wanted to win the office, as the campaign really stopped fighting back in March. We sought to win at the ballot box with the popular vote (without success), activists then infiltrated their state parties and picked up many delegate slots for a convention fight. But the Republican Party would not play fair, and the Paul contingent traveled home from Tampa with minimal gains. Yet several folks out there just won't give up, and have tried various other methods of promoting Ron Paul 2012 and laying the groundwork for the future. I probably should have posted the first two events sooner, but campaign coverage was much easier to come by at the time. The latest effort is for a national write-in campaign, which I'll continue to follow here on the podcast. Obviously, the RNC was a disappointing end for those who had invested their time, money and emotion into this campaign. Ron Paul Tribute, Rand Paul speaks at Republican National Convention (8/29/2012)

Rep. Ron Paul did have an informal presence at the RNC in Tampa. Unfortunately, an unedited speaking slot was not part of the festivities. Instead, the party opted for a video tribute that was shown to the delegates on the floor of the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Wednesday. Prominent tea party Republicans like Sen. Rand Paul, Sen. Jim DeMint, and Sen. Mike Lee offered complimentary words about the Congressman's many years of service. Later, Sen. Paul spoke to the convention-goers about conservatism and what this election means to America. Ron Paul speaks to delegation at Iowa GOP Breakfast (8/27/2012)

Texas Congressman Ron Paul rallied with around 400 supporters on Monday morning, including most of the Iowa delegation attending the Republican National Convention in Florida. The event was the Iowa breakfast at the Republican National Convention, but the majority of the crowd supposedly came from other states -- and those out-of-staters were Ron Paul supporters. The Club on Treasure Island, Florida — near the Iowa delegation’s hotel — was the site of the event — and a light rain fell as guests arrived. Dr. Paul urged supporters to fight on in the intellectual battle, despite the many dirty tricks and slow progress. Video compliments of YouTube User: TheTomdif.

Audio from the P.A.U.L. Festival (August 25th and 26th)

After posting the audio of the Ron Paul campaign's formal gathering in Tampa Bay, I though I would post some sounds from the "fringe" element gathering at the Florida State Fairgrounds at the P.A.U.L. (People Awakening and Uniting for Liberty) Festival. PAULfest welcomed many of the liberty movement's most prominent thinkers, who were not invited to the campaign's official rally. The three day gathering welcomed thousands of Paulistas from around the country and featured speeches from various libertarian/Paul supporters. I thought I'd post a good portion of the audio from the festivities during the RNC. On Sunday afternoon, somewhere between seven and ten thousand Paul supporters packed the University of South Florida's (USF) Sun Dome in Tampa Bay, Florida to celebrate the campaign's successes and to honor Ron Paul for his service. Ron Paul Congressional Lecture Series: The Federal Reserve System

As he is so often wont to do, Rep. Ron Paul clearly sought to use his Chairmanship of the Subcommittee on Monetary Policy as an opportunity to educate his colleagues in the US Congress (and their various staffers) about the fallacies of their economic understanding. As his part in the 2012 presidential election began to wind down, Dr. Paul's Washington staff organized a trio of experts to speak in an 'afternoon tea lecture series' on the Federal Reserve system. As a continuing educational tool, this lecture was filmed and posted for the public on the Congressman's YouTube page. Due to the lack of Ron Paul interviews and appearances in recent months, I thought I'd post these lectures on the podcast here for your enlightenment. Dozens of activists from the Republican Liberty Caucus met at the Holiday Inn - Grand Isle to strategize in advance of the convention, which is being called "Dr. Paul's last stand" to earn a chance to be formally nominated at the RNC. The audience heard from the Congressman thanks to a Laptop with Skype, and a mic connected to a PA. I included a portion of the preceding speakers, just for listeners to get a feel for the meeting.
