Ron Paul Tribute, Rand Paul speaks at Republican National Convention (8/29/2012)

Rep. Ron Paul did have an informal presence at the RNC in Tampa. Unfortunately, an unedited speaking slot was not part of the festivities. Instead, the party opted for a video tribute that was shown to the delegates on the floor of the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Wednesday. Prominent tea party Republicans like Sen. Rand Paul, Sen. Jim DeMint, and Sen. Mike Lee offered complimentary words about the Congressman's many years of service. Later, Sen. Paul spoke to the convention-goers about conservatism and what this election means to America. Ron Paul speaks to delegation at Iowa GOP Breakfast (8/27/2012)

Texas Congressman Ron Paul rallied with around 400 supporters on Monday morning, including most of the Iowa delegation attending the Republican National Convention in Florida. The event was the Iowa breakfast at the Republican National Convention, but the majority of the crowd supposedly came from other states -- and those out-of-staters were Ron Paul supporters. The Club on Treasure Island, Florida — near the Iowa delegation’s hotel — was the site of the event — and a light rain fell as guests arrived. Dr. Paul urged supporters to fight on in the intellectual battle, despite the many dirty tricks and slow progress. Video compliments of YouTube User: TheTomdif.

Congressman Ron Paul Meets with Delegates at Semi-Private Briefing (8/27/2012)

Just prior to his meeting with the Iowa delegation for breakfast on Monday in Tampa, Dr. Ron Paul held a semi-private briefing with supporters. Guests took turns asking the Congressman questions about the campaign, working withing the GOP, the ongoing viability of the current political process, and more. After posting the audio of the Ron Paul campaign's formal gathering in Tampa Bay, I though I would post some sounds from the "fringe" element gathering at the Florida State Fairgrounds at the P.A.U.L. (People Awakening and Uniting for Liberty) Festival. PAULfest welcomed many of the liberty movement's most prominent thinkers, who were not invited to the campaign's official rally. The three day gathering welcomed thousands of Paulistas from around the country and featured speeches from various libertarian/Paul supporters. I thought I'd post a good portion of the audio from the festivities during the RNC. On Sunday afternoon, somewhere between seven and ten thousand Paul supporters packed the University of South Florida's (USF) Sun Dome in Tampa Bay, Florida to celebrate the campaign's successes and to honor Ron Paul for his service. If you are looking for audio of Dr. Paul's speech, it can be heard in its entirety here. This audio file contains additional music and speeches from the major rally, for your listening enjoyment. Ron Paul speaks at ‘We Are the Future’ Rally in Tampa, FL (8/26/2012)

In a speech that was part motivational, part valedictory and at every opportunity critical of the mainstream Republican Party, Representative Ron Paul declared his liberty movement alive and well on Sunday before a crowd of nearly 10,000 supporters who were eager to testify to that claim. Dr. Paul, who was introduced to the crowd by Senator Rand Paul, welcomed the crowd to his campaign finale at the University of South Florida's Sun Dome in Tampa. Ron Paul Weekly Update - August 18th thru August 24th

I wanted to go back and post some audio from the week I missed, right before the Republican National Convention. Relive the final days before the RNC, as the Romney camp and the GOP establishment worked to make absolutely certain that Ron Paul delegates would be politically castrated while in Tampa. The party blatantly cheated the Maine delegation, removing half of the unbound liberty delegates there- even though the GOP rules committee would later change the rules regarding candidate nomination, anyway. Nevertheless, the MSM generally gave the Romney campaign credit for letting Rand Paul speak and for playing the video tribute to Dr. Paul. So (as expected), the party insiders were generally able to have their cake, and eat it, too. I am looking for audio of the conference call that Dr. Paul and the campaign had with delegates and alternates on 8/19 (please contact me if you know where to find it).  Apparently, word leaked out that Dr. Paul would not be seeking nomination on the floor of the convention, which took the rest of the wind out of the activist's sails. Sadly, (according to US Senate candidate Kurt Bills) it became clear that the Congressman had apparently agreed to just about everything that happened in Tampa, before the thing even started. Ron is still a hero, but it's clear that his heart wasn't in this thing. Congressman Ron Paul on CNBC’s Closing Bell (8/24/2012)

Ron Paul joined CNBC's Maria Bartiromo on the Friday edition of Closing Bell to talk about the need to return to honest money, and the Republican Party's attempts to appease conservative advocates of the gold standard. The Congressman reacted skeptically to the news that the GOP had put plans for a new gold commission into the platform at the RNC.

Texas Straight Talk - Military “Cuts”: Don’t Believe the Hype (8/20/2012)

In this week's Texas Straight Talk update, Rep. Ron Paul comments on the recent remarks by Grover Norquist at the Center for the National Interest. Perhaps conservatives are finally coming around to the realization that US foreign policy, as it has been conducted in recent years, is fiscally and logistically unsustainable. Yet, neither party has even proposed actual cuts to military spending. Public sentiments will continue to build against foreign intervention, but be prepared- talk of such cuts will prompt an incredible propaganda offensive from the military industrial complex! Ron Paul Weekly Update - August 11th thru August 17th

If only there was some good news to report these days! We're only a couple weeks out from the Republican convention, and we still have no word on whether Ron Paul will be allowed to speak there. The GOP has been working overtime in an attempt to strip Dr. Paul of his state delegations, as the rules commission has most recently ruled in favor of the state parties in Massachusetts and Louisiana (despite the blatant rule-braking in both instances). Of course, the big news this week has been the VP nomination of Paul Ryan- which is a joke from the perspective of of an original tea party activist. Ryan has been artificially  put forward by neocon leadership in the house (and the right-wing talk radio mafia) - as the Republican standard for modern fiscal conservatism. Too bad the man is actually Rep. Mitt Romney, if you compare the record of the two. In recent weeks, we have seen some signs of a fracturing movement. Ron Paul Congressional Lecture Series: The Federal Reserve System

As he is so often wont to do, Rep. Ron Paul clearly sought to use his Chairmanship of the Subcommittee on Monetary Policy as an opportunity to educate his colleagues in the US Congress (and their various staffers) about the fallacies of their economic understanding. As his part in the 2012 presidential election began to wind down, Dr. Paul's Washington staff organized a trio of experts to speak in an 'afternoon tea lecture series' on the Federal Reserve system. As a continuing educational tool, this lecture was filmed and posted for the public on the Congressman's YouTube page. Due to the lack of Ron Paul interviews and appearances in recent months, I thought I'd post these lectures on the podcast here for your enlightenment. Texas Straight Talk: Legalize Competing Currencies (8/13/2012)

Ron Paul Weekly Update - August 3rd thru August 10th

Coverage continues to  get harder to come by, as we await the Republican National Convention in less than three weeks. Much speculation remained this week, as conflicting reports came out claiming Dr. Paul will/will not be speaking at the RNC. While Dr. Paul has not been officially announced as a speaker in Tampa, sources within the GOP insist that he will be visible there. Meanwhile, Paul supporters are not able to rest with their victories in hand. In Louisiana and Maine, establishment forces are demanding compromises that they aren't entitled to. And in Minnesota, a Romney loyalist is on the attack against US Sen. candidate Kurt Bills. On the other hand, Justin Amash and Kerry Benitvolio won their respective primaries in Michigan, so progress continues. Finally, there is the Lawyers 4 Ron Paul lawsuit, that has apparently been adjudicated this week out in California- I included the most recent interview for your own convenience. Ron Paul speaks at Fundraiser for SC Senator Tom Davis (8/6/2012)

On Monday, Rep. Ron Paul came to Columbia, South Carolina to support SC state Senator Tom Davis in his bid for reelection. If you recall, Davis endorsed Dr. Paul back in January before the primary there, and the Congressman appeared at the event venue at 701 Whaley to return the favor. The fundraiser was appropriately emceed by Jack Hunter, "the Southern Avenger," as the crowd of contributing donors at the rally numbered around 200 (my estimate). Due to the relative lack of  audio available for the podcast these days, this file includes remarks by Hunter, Dr. Paul, and Sen. Davis. Video compliments of YouTube User: SilenceDewgooder.

Texas Straight Talk: Moving Toward War in Syria (8/6/2012)

In this week's Texas Straight Talk report, Congressman Ron Paul rails against the Congress' never-ending appetite for intervention abroad, after the House passed additional sanctions against Iran and Syria last week. While the American people have grown weary of the constant wars, Washington is absolutely tone-deaf. This shouldn't surprise us, as both parties' have an interest in pointing to progress in the area of the foreign policy (as if they're getting something done in DC). The truth is: the military is a grand federal jobs plan! The armed forces work in the area of 'national security' seems so much more legitimate than hiring people to dig holes, and then hiring more people to come along and fill them back up! Ron Paul Weekly Update - July 28th thru August 3rd

Well, we all knew it would come down to the Republican Party's willingness to play nice, and it seems that they ain't. Dr. Paul may well have the five state pluralities required to speak at the convention and have his name formally placed into nomination- but the GOP continues to work to strip Paul delegates who are rightly set to go down to Tampa at the end of the month. The Republican National Committee has apparently certified all the Romney/not Paul delegates from the state of Louisiana, despite the fact that slate was voted on by a minority of state convention delegates! Moreover, THE GOP establishment in Maine is coming for those delegates, as well. Claiming that WE COMMITTED VOTE FRAUD, while Romney's top lawyers stood by to oversee the process back in May. The official campaign has finally challenged the rulings in both Louisiana and Massachusetts, but the question remains: Whose idea was it to base the whole campaign on this delegate process, that requires good faith and fairness of the organized criminal network known as the Republican Party? Due to the fact that so many of you have participated in the GOP on behalf of Ron Paul (and since Barack Obama has been such a tyrant), I wanted to support the Republican nominee. All they had to do was to welcome the Paul delegates with an outstretched hand, and to recognize us as a significant bloc within the Party. But instead, they throw salt in our wounds. I really had to reach to find appropriate audio this week, but I wanted you to be able to hear about Paulfest and the ongoing Lawyers for Paul lawsuit. Ron Paul chaired the twelfth meeting of the House Financial Services subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology, entitled: Sound Money: Parallel Currencies and the Roadmap to Monetary Freedom. The witnesses included: Dr. Richard Ebeling (Professor of Economics, Northwood University), Mr. Nathan Lewis (Principal, Kiku Capital Management LLC) and Mr. Rob Gray (Executive Director, The American Open Currency Standard).

Congressman Ron Paul’s Speaks Against Iran Sanctions on House Floor (8/1/2012)

Continuing his alliance with Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Congressman Ron Paul took to the house floor to speak out against additional sanctions on the Iranian people. Dr. Paul decried this worst type of bipartisanship, and rightly labeled the legislation "The Obsession With Iran Act of 2012". Predictably, the House rubber-stamped the legislation, voting 421-6 in favor of punishing Iran for the US Congress' previous set of ineffective sanctions. On Wednesday, Ron Paul appeared on Fox Business' Money and spoke with anchor Melissa Francis about the Federal Reserve’s decision not to take further action on the economy. Dr. Paul tried to explain the effects that central economic planning on our society and reiterated his efforts to audit the Fed.

Texas Straight Talk: Audit the Fed Moves Forward! (7/30/2012)

In his weekly Texas Straight Talk telephone update, Ron Paul informed his supporters of the recent passage of the Audit the Fed bill  in the House of Representatives. The Senate version of the bill will be much more challenging to bring forward, as S. 202 currently has only 29 co-sponsors (not to mention a Democrat-controlled body).
