On Monday, Congressman Ron Paul made a surprise appearance on Bloomberg Television for something of a debate with renown Keynesian economist Paul Krugman. Krugman- the unofficial spokesman for central banking and status-quo economics- joined Trish Regan on the entire Street Smart broadcast. Dr. Paul and Kruggy sparred over topics such as inflation, monetary policy and the role of the Federal Reserve. In addition, the Congressman stuck around for an extra segment called "Reganomics", where he talked about debt, European austerity and staying in the presidential race.

Ron Paul Weekly Update - April 20th thru April 27th

The campaign continues, as the media narrative shifts to the seemingly inevitable match-up between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Ron Paul is the lone Republican challenger left standing, as Newt Gingrich announced his intention to suspend his campaign following Romney's five state sweep on Tuesday. Yet, the media is starting to recognize that Dr. Paul will have a role to play come August, as it becomes increasingly obvious that the Congressman has fared much better in the delegate process than in the different state Republican straw-polls. But make no mistake: Romney's establishment minions are trying to pull out all kinds of shenanigans at state conventions around the country. A Romney/Obama general election would be an entirely uninspiring affair. Let's hope that the Congressman does anything and everything within his power to maximize our collective voice (and the voices of the millions of Americans who feel unrepresented by the presumptive nominees of the two major parties). Ron Paul’s UH visit was held at the university’s Hofheinz Pavilion, located on the campus in Houston. The Congressman's UT campaign event was held outdoors at the university’s LBJ Library Lawn, located on the Austin campus. At the event, Dr. Paul discussed his platform of constitutionally-limited government, the restoration of economic and civil liberties, and provisions of his ground-breaking ‘Plan to Restore America.’ Audio of the event is pretty good, most of which was recorded via the Freedom Broadcasting Network's live stream. Around 60 people were in attendance to hear Dr. Paul talk about the 2012 campaign, and the liberty movement more broadly. Carol Paul introduces her husband. The cost of attendance quite modest by political standards: $350 donation per person ($250 student or active duty military). The campaign event took place in the footsteps of America’s modern founders, who conceptualized, advocated for, and created a modest federal government of the kind Ron Paul has been promoting for more than three decades. Ron Paul’s campaign rally took place on the lawn at the Independence Mall Visitors Center, located in the heart of Pennsylvania's capital city. Ron Paul Weekly Update - April 14th thru April 20th

Well, the media hardly even discusses the Republican nomination any longer, as Mittens Romney is crowned the "conservative" alternative to Obama in 2012. Santorum's suspension of his campaign surely threw a wrench into the hope for a brokered convention. Wonder what ever happened to the tea party? It should be interesting to see whether the media even bothers to correct their wild speculation as to the correct delegate counts at this point, as news starts to filter out of state conventions that, indeed, Dr. Paul's delegate strategy is starting to pay dividends in Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nevada, and Iowa just to name a few states. This means that Ron Paul has done much better than win multiple primary/caucus straw polls- but he quite possibly might take the plurality of delegates in several states. That is, if the Rom-inee's establishment buddies don't just steal entire delegations (like in Alaska, North Dakota, and elsewhere). We'll either have to start looking at a 3rd party bid, or begin pondering the post-Ron Paul era (as you will hear in this audio update). We might as well have a blast in the meantime, as the Ron Paul campus liberty tour continues gaining momentum. And who knows, we have some huge states coming up in the next month. Youth for Ron Paul Rally at the University of Pittsburgh (4/20/2012)

Ron Paul attracted a remarkable 2,300-plus voters in his native city of Pittsburgh on Friday night. News articles from earlier today cite Steel City residents recalling that Dr. Paul served as a high school student council president, and that he was a track star. Dr. Paul held his town hall meeting in the University of Pittsburgh’s Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall. The symbolism of the venue’s name was apparent as Ron Paul, a former Air Force flight surgeon, is the only veteran seeking the Republican nomination for the presidency, or the presidency for that matter. At the event, the 12-term Congressman from Texas discussed his platform of constitutionally-limited government, the restoration of our economic and civil liberties, and his groundbreaking ‘Plan to Restore America.’ Video compliments of YouTube User: revan99.

Shortly before noon ET time on Friday, Dr. Ron Paul held a 'Lunch with Ron Paul' fundraiser at the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh University Center. Guests received an update on the Congressman's plans and the progress of the Presidential campaign, before having the opportunity to ask questions of Dr. Paul during a Q&A period. Guests asked Dr. Paul about the outlook for Tampa and beyond, promoting domestic job creation and competition for the public education system in this country, and what happens with the 2013 expiration of the Federal Reserve's charter.
