We've about outgrown ourselves again here at the Ron Paul 2012 podcast (I guess 1500 MB per month just isn't enough). I have worked super-hard to provide all the audio content that you could want to hear, but this campaign is far from over! With the early caucus states and Super Tuesday coming up, we are sure to max out on upload capacity by mid February. If you have the means and you appreciate this podcast, please consider donating today. And I'll do my job providing the most up-to-date, comprehensive Ron Paul podcast on the web.

Have you ever considered encoding the podcasts as mono before uploading? Most of these speeches aren’t recorded in stereo anyways, and the bitrate (i.e. file size) could be dropped in half (from 128 kb/s to 64 kb/s) with no noticeable difference. Thanks for the great podcast.

Thanks for the tips. I encode all the large files at 64kbps, going forward, I will probably do the same for all files. Unfortunately, the upload storage limit kind of snuck up on me over the last month or two, having posted many 2 to 4 hour long podcast files (which are very popular)! I have never wanted to shortchange people on audio quality. I have tried to encode the audio files in mono as opposed to two identical stereo tracks, but I did not notice a difference in file size before (I tried to do some experimenting in the past).
Thanks for your interest, and I’m so very glad that you all enjoy the podcast. One things for certain- this will be a final fundraising effort for the 2012 campaign.
