Ron Paul Speaks to the National Right to Life Convention (6/24/2011)

By the magic of modern technology, Congressman Ron Paul addressed attendees of the National Right to Life Convention 2011 via video teleconference on Friday morning (in between speeches on the house floor). Along with about half of the other GOP Republican nominees for 2012, Dr. Paul spoke about the need to protect the lives of the unborn and curtail the grotesque practice of abortion. After all, how can we expect to retain respect for liberty, if he have no respect for life, itself? The conference took place at the Hyatt Regency in Jacksonville, Florida, under the slogan: "Bringing America Back to Life". This is really quite a cool speech, full of anecdotes from Dr. Paul's life; a slightly different kind of Ron Paul speech. Video is compliments of Politico.

Chairman Ron Paul held his sixth subcommittee of the Committee on Financial Services hearing on Thursday, at a hearing entitled: “Investigating the Gold: H.R. 1495, the Gold Reserve Transparency Act of 2011 and the Oversight of United States Gold Holdings.” The committee meeting took place in the Rayburn House Office Building, and the expert witnesses on the panel included the Honorable Eric M. Thorson ( Inspector General, Department of the Treasury) and Mr. Gary T. Engel (Director, Financial Management and Assurance, Government Accountability Office). The hearing started off slow, but the line of questioning turned to the IMF's gold holdings, and whether or not US deep storage gold truly belongs to the American people! On Tuesday at noon CT, Dr. Ron Paul had his second campaign stop of the day at the Sergeant Bluff Community Center- located South of Sioux City, Iowa. The Congressman talked to the approximately fifty-or-so citizens and potential supporters, mainly about financial and foreign policy issues. Congressman Ron Paul spoke to activists and supporters from Iowa and Nebraska in the western Iowa town of Council Bluffs on Tuesday morning, one of two Hawkeye State campaign stops for the day. More than 100 showed up at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Council Bluffs, to hear the Doctor outline his fiscal policy for a truly limited government. Dr. Paul's remarks were followed by some audience Q&A. It's very exciting that a large, enthusiastic crowd attended the rally on a rainy Tuesday morning at 9 AM!
