TST: Don’t Raise the Debt Ceiling! (11/29/2010)

November 29th, 2010

In this week's edition of Texas Straight Talk, Dr. Paul appeals to the new incoming Congress to refuse to raise the debt ceiling, as a statement against the unpayable debt and the servitude of future generations. The Congressman believes that the DC establishment, along with their friends in the corporate media, has an interest in the present alarmist rhetoric, which threatens chaos and a total government shutdown if the debt ceiling isn't raised.

Scott Horton Interviews Rep. Ron Paul (11/24/2010)

November 29th, 2010

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) was interviewed by Scott Horton of Anti-War Radio to discuss his preferred Korea policy in light of the North/South military clash: pull out all US forces and let the regional powers mediate if necessary; how Osama bin Laden’s plan to bankrupt the US empire (as he did to the USSR before) seems to be working perfectly; how government programs (like Obamacare) are incredibly difficult to repeal once enacted, the devastation wrought on Iraqi Christian communities since the US invastion and the groundswell of Americans who are angered by TSA screenings but fail to make the connection between US foreign policy and terrorism. Please support Anti-War Radio; they need our help! Listen to this interview, and donate at antiwar.com: a libertarian voice for peace!

Ron Paul Interviewed by Sean Hannity (11/22/2010)

November 23rd, 2010

After many long months, Congressman Ron Paul received the "You're a great American" treatment on the Sean Hannity Show. In a wild turn of events for the smiley-faced neocon, Hannity appeared to show a somewhat genuine appreciation for Dr. Paul's work, and lifetime of service- in spite of the two's baggage from the past. This was risky, of course, since perhaps some Hannity listeners might recognize an authentic voice for true conservatism. A generally friendly, agreeable interview about TSA policy ensued, despite the host's propensity for right-wing statism and uniform worship. Dr. Paul thanked Sean for being nice to Rand during the campaign, proving that Hannity (in the words of the Congressman) "is not owned by the establishment part of the Republican party." Priceless -- and not likely to be repeated again in the near future.

Days after introducing the "American Traveler Dignity Act" (HR 6416), Dr. Ron Paul traveled to Arizona for the C4L Liberty Weekend. Dr. Paul spoke with AZ's own Ernest Hancock, of Freedom's Phoenix, before speaking at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale. The two spoke about the TSA and the Congressman's support for the grassroots opt-out movement, in which individuals will practice civil disobedience against the full body scanners and the enhanced pat-downs implemented at the nation's airports (learn more at http://wewontfly.com). As earlier in the day at ASU, Barry Goldwater Jr. introduced Congressman Paul to the packed ballroom reception. Only the beginning of the speech is captured on video, which I tried to edit for ease of listening.

Complete Ron Paul Speech at Arizona State U. in Tempe (11/19/2010)

November 20th, 2010

On a Friday afternoon, Congressman Ron Paul spoke to at least 200 students and supporters on the campus of Arizona State University, in an event organized by the ASU chapter of Young Americans for Liberty, and Campaign for Liberty. Dr. Paul was introduced by longtime supporter Barry Goldwater Jr. on the university's Hayden Lawn. The Congressman's address, which was free and open to the public, focused on the need to guard our liberties in the midst of the TSA's controversial, unconstitutional tactics. *Full speech found and edited, 11/20

A couple awesome quotes from Ron Paul's speech, November 19, 2010:

RP: "Up until now, it's been traditional to understand that a totalitarian society is known when they force you to carry your papers. But we've been there for awhile. Where can you go without your social security number? Where can you go without your drivers license? Can you get a job? Can you open up a bank account? Can you get on an airplane? No, you have to show your papers. But this is worse! I don't know of any country that's ever done it. In this case, what we have to do is reveal our genitalia!" (25:47)

"Some people who are strongly anti-war love the welfare state. And they don't see that they're using the same violence. The violence of the war, is the violence of the welfare state!" (34:32)

RP to House: “Enough is Enough” (11/17/2010)

November 18th, 2010

In the midst of rising public outcry, Congressman Ron Paul took to the house floor on Wednesday night to decry the widespread abuses of the TSA against the dignity of the American people. Dr. Paul introduced the "American Traveler Dignity Act" in response to overreaching regulatory measures taken by the Transportation Safety Administration to implement potentially dangerous X-Ray screening procedures or invasive "pat-downs" by TSA officials. Campaign for Liberty has released a written statement opposing this regulatory overreach by the TSA. Some highlights from the address (quotes):

"I rise this evening to announce that I've introduced some legislation today dealing with the calamity that we have found at our airports, with TSA. Something has to be done. Everybody's fed up. The people are fed up. The pilots are fed up. I'm fed up!" (:06)

"We have to realize that the real problem is that the American people have been too submissive! We have been too submissive. It's been going on for a long time! This was to be expected, even from the beginning of the TSA. And it's deeply flawed. Private property should be protected by private individuals -- not bureaucrats!" (1:26)

"I see that what has happened to the American people is: we have accepted the notion that we should be treated like cattle. Make us safe. Make us secure. Put us in the barbed wire. Feed us. Fatten us up... and then they'll eat us." (4:54)

November 18th, 2010

Dr. Ron Paul took the time on Wednesday to educate msnbc's Chris Jansing about the need for transparency at the Federal Reserve, and how the Fed deserves great responsibility for America's poor economy. The Congressman explains that the Fed cannot create jobs, and that the people must ask: "what should the role of government be?"Sadly, I don't think the hostess got the message.

Mike Church Interview with Ron Paul (11/10/2010)

King Dude chatted it up with Congressman Ron Paul on some of the issues most pertinent to our Country, like if there are any more Paul's we can put in Congress besides Rand (Congressman says there are 4 more but doubts they'll travel the politically clad road). Some of the other topics they touch on: Governor Palin being one of the lone aggressors against BernYANK-ME's never ending print press, what would be discovered if the Congressman was able to audit the Fed, the unsustainable debt and how long unsustainable plans to remain unsustainable, how to find our way back to Liberty and Prosperity, the Heritage Foundation and their negative effects on life, and the institution of the asset bubble written, produced and choreographed by Ben BernYANK-ME.
