TST: Iraq - Mission Accomplished? (8/30/2010)

This week's edition of Texas Straight Talk features Dr. Paul discussing the semantic absurdity of the supposed Iraq war draw-down. With the corporate media as a willing accomplice, the Obama administration has attempted to claim victory and stage PR photo ops with some returning troops, suggesting that the war in Iraq is over to the casual viewer. Meanwhile, 50,000 so called "non-combat troops" remain downrange and private contractors continue to shoulder more responsibility (at taxpayer expense).

Congressman Paul joins the Thom Hartmann Program (8/27/2010)

Thom speaks with Congressman Ron Paul about (you guessed it) the WTC mosque controversy, and the intense politicization of our country's values. Hartmann congratulated Dr. Paul for his tolerance and his attempt to bring reason to the conservative debate. Of course, Hartmann spends much of his time demonizing libertarian ideals for all of the nations problems- not the overbearing statism! They also talk about corporate personhood, and the Citizens United verdict.

Fox’ Gerri Willis interviews Congressman Paul (8/26/2010)

On Thursday, Congressman Ron Paul appeared on Fox Business' The Willis Report to discuss auditing the federal government's gold, ending the Fed, and restoring a prosperous economy. Dr. Paul lays it out beautifully in this interview. It's just a shame the (supposedly conservative) Fox info-babe has such a hard time understanding the concepts.

Ron Paul on the Alan Colmes Show (8/25/2010)

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) joins Fox radio host Alan Colmes to express his support for the planned Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero. Dr. Paul explains why he’s telling opponents of the mosque near Ground Zero to “stop your demagoguery.” The left has certainly jumped on the topic, attempting to divide the two distinctive tea party factions.

Dr. Paul visits with “On the Money” Radio (8/25/2010)

Rep. Ron Paul spoke with Steve Pomeranz of the On the Money radio program, broadcast on WXEL 90.7 FM in south Florida, and on the internet. Pomeranz styles himself "the investors advocate" whose program "helps to protect you from self-serving forces within the financial services industry." The two speak about Dr. Paul's legislative philosophy, the flaws of central economic planning, and the need for sound money. I am always exasperated by so-called financial experts who cannot even wrap their minds around the concept of free-market, Austrian economics.

Dr. Paul on 77 WABC in New York (8/24/2010)

Congressman Ron Paul spoke on the phone with guest host Bernard McGuirk (producer from the Imus Show) about his controversial comments regarding the Ground Zero mosque. McGuirk, filling in for Joe Scarborough, brings Paul "into the belly of the beast" to speak about the fragile feelings of New Yorkers. One could argue that al-Qaeda didn't strike at Americans generally, but at specific targets at the heart of the military that bombs and occupies Muslim lands, and the Wall St/NY financiers that fund the empire and steal regional wealth!

Congressman Paul on Mancow’s Morning Madhouse (8/24/2010)

Dr. Ron Paul spoke with Erich "Mancow" Muller during several segments of the Mancow Show on Tuesday morning. The two speak about the floundering US economy, the ground zero mosque controversy, and Rand Paul's campaign for the US Senate. Mancow can't help but show his hatred for Muslims, suggesting that we will eventually be forced to go to war against Iran, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. One thing's for sure, Muller won't be the one fighting! Nevertheless, this is a pretty funny series of exchanges between the two.

Rand Paul Update (August 2010)

Despite his substantial polling advantage over Democrat opponent Jack Conway, Rand Paul has sustained repeated and ruthless personal attacks since defeating his Republican primary opponent in May. Baseless charges are made without evidence, yet the bought and paid for liberal media in Kentucky continue to allow the rumors a place in the news cycle. Nevertheless, Congressman Paul's son continues to soldier on down the campaign trail. Here is a listing of the clips included in this post:

Congressman Paul joined guest host Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN's AC360, to talk about the ongoing WTC mosque fiasco. Dr. Paul sees the issue as somewhat diversionary, but useful to those who want to blame Islam (and Muslims) for the 9/11 attacks. Gupta asks the Representative about his son's opposition to the planned Islamic center near ground zero.

Coverage of Dr. Paul and the WTC Mosque: MSNBC’s Countdown (8/23/2010)

(Dr. Paul does not appear on this program) No, the slimy Mr. Olbermann was not present for the interview, but guest host Lawrence O‘Donnell was. Nevertheless, coverage focused on the Mosque controversy in New York City, and the article written by the congressman about the issue. Dr. Paul slammed the NYC "ground zero" mosque demagogues on the right, who have feigned outrage over supposed Muslim insensitivity. Reactions to Dr. Paul's statements were positive by the panel of liberal guests, as it is Palin and Gingrich who have proven themselves anti-intellectual, and attempting to benefit from public ignorance in future campaigns. Much love to our Muslim bothers and sisters!

TST: Abolish Fannie and Freddie (8/23/2010)

In this week's address to his constituents, Dr. Paul points out that economists and pundits have finally begun to admit the bankruptcy and needed abolition of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. However, the possibilty exists that the feds could create an even bigger mess. The congressman asserts that the housing market should be left alone to normalize.

Congressman Ron Paul spoke to activists and supporters at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando at the 2010 Florida Liberty Summit. The event was sponsored and organized by the Campaign for Liberty, and the speech was free and open to the public. Many are saying that the 45 minute address was one of Dr. Paul's best speeches in recent months.

Liberty Double Dose: Ron Paul and Clint Didier Interview (8/10/2010)

Congressman Paul joined host Kathryn Serkes during Clint Didier's Money Bomb Radio Marathon. Paul endorsed Didier's candidacy for the US Senate from the state of Washington. The two liberty advocates had a great exchange during an interview about foreign policy, economics and more. Dr. Paul was very enthusiastic about Clint's positions on the war, farm subsidies, immigration and economics. Unfortunately, it looks as if Didier has lost the Republican primary held on August 17th.

TST: The Cycle of Violence in Afghanistan (8/9/2010)

In his weekly update, Dr. Paul addresses the seemingly endless cycle of violence being bred by the occupation, oppression, and killing of the Afghan people. "Collateral Damage" may be the politically correct way of referring to the murder of innocent civilians in the war torn Central Asian nation. The sanitized semantics are meant for the criminally ignorant American audience. For the people of Afghanistan, the carnage caused by US arms guarantees a generation of fighters, resolute in their intention to avenge both the deaths of lost loved ones, and the humiliation of a proud people. The Congressman reminds us of the risk of such "blowback", and urges full withdrawal of US forces.

Dr. Paul explains how the President, as the supposed 'peace candidate' in 2008, has let the people down. As he proposed back during that campaign, Obama has actually expanded operations into Pakistan. Nevertheless, the Congress has the tools to bring this war to an end, and Ron Paul urges that they do so quickly.
