Ron Paul Holds Town Hall Meeting in Lewiston, ME (1/27/2012)

Rep. Ron Paul stopped at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston, Maine for a town hall style forum. The Sun Journal reports that a diverse crowd of several hundred locals came to hear the Congressman deliver his message of individual liberty and peace- on a cold and slushy Friday night. Ron Paul Speaks to the People in Waterville, ME (1/27/2012)

Kicking off his particular focus on these early caucus states, Rep. Ron Paul traveled to Maine for a two-day tour of the state in advance of voting there- which begins this weekend. On Friday afternoon, Dr. Paul delivered his stump speech at Colby College in Waterville. Not sure why the event was not run like a town hall- instead it was more like a meet and greet. Rand Paul Detained by TSA, Speaks Out Against Federal Goon Force

I just had to post some of coverage of this week's public altercation between Sen. Rand Paul and the TSA. On Monday, it was reported that the Senator was detained by agents of the Transportation Security Administration at the Nashville International Airport. An "anomaly" was supposedly spotted on the Senator's person when he went through the naked body scanner, at which time TSA agents insisted on a full patdown. Dr. Paul denied permission for the intrusive search, which began a 90-minute stand-off between the Senator and the TSA. Rand eventually made it on another flight, but not without speaking to the media about his displeasure with the attitude and tactics of the belligerent federal agency. For their part, the Obama administration supported the actions of their agents in Nashville, and the TSA attempted to characterize Rand as irate, and somehow unreasonable (leaked security video contradicts this claim). Ron Paul Jacksonville GOP Debate Highlights (1/26/2012)

This file contains all of the statements, exchanges, and responses given by Dr. Ron Paul at the CNN Florida Republican Party Presidential Debate. The candidate forum was held at the University of North Florida, in Jacksonville- and the event was principally moderated by Wolf Blitzer. Congressman Paul really knocked it out of the proverbial ballpark on several occasions at this debate! Dr. Paul argued the case for lifting the decades old embargo against Cuba (while Santorum still thinks we're in the Cold War). He also stated his readiness to become America's oldest President if elected, by challenging his rivals  to a physical challenge! 18th Republican Presidential Debate - Jacksonville, FL (1/26/2012)

On Thursday night in Jacksonville, the four remaining candidates for the GOP nomination met once again for the Republican Party CNN Presidential Debate. The candidates took to the stage at the University of North Florida, in Jacksonville and stood in the following order on the stage (from left to right): Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, and Ron Paul. As the campaign transitions from South Carolina to Florida and beyond, we have approached a lull in the campaign that I will fill with some longer, radio-style conversations about our cause and our candidate. A large percentage of this audio file relates to Dr. Paul's foreign policy of non-intervention, how his position is perceived by the public, and how a more rational defense policy differentiates the Congressman from his rivals. The media can no longer ignore the candidate who actually advocates a different direction to government policy, right? 17th Republican Presidential Debate - Tampa Bay, FL (1/23/2012)

Audio Rewind: News & Coverage of the South Carolina Primary

This audio file recaps the last few days of media coverage- leading up to, on the day of, and in the aftermath of the South Carolina primary. I like to include surrogates speaking to the media on behalf of the Paul campaign, various clips illustrating the kind of grassroots efforts taking place on the ground, news packages by local affiliates and national networks, and even some previously unposted audio with Dr. Paul, himself. The media rarely covers Dr. Paul even when he does well at the ballot box- they had even less to say on Saturday night. By the numbers, the Congressman received around 77k votes from SC voters- a huge increase over four years ago in a somewhat hostile state. Unfortunately, the disappointing showing was enhanced by the fact that the candidates certain to finish behind him dropped out prior to primary day. But most outlets recognize that our campaign will push forward for the foreseeable future, collecting delegates as we go. I want to say that regardless of the results, the activists and supporters in South Carolina should be very proud of themselves! Waking up Americans, particularly those in the deep south who have their traditional faith and patriotism manipulated by the GOP for political gain, is no simple task. Texas Straight Talk: Stop Internet Censorship (1/23/2012)

Ron Paul Talks with FNC’s Mike Huckabee (1/22/2012)

On Saturday, Congressman Ron Paul came onto Fox News' Huckabee, to talk with the former Governor about his disappointing showing in South Carolina and the campaign going forward. Huckabee did note the obvious growth of the movement since 2008, and Rep. Paul explained why the limited government message is more necessary than ever. Ron Paul at South Carolina Primary Concession Speech (1/21/2012)

Well, it is a disappointing night for all of us as Congressman Ron Paul garnered only 13% of the South Carolina Republican Primary vote. Newt Gingrich won the election with 40%, Mitt Romney was 2nd with 28%, and Rick Santorum was 3rd with 19% of the vote. Wonder what happened to the other 4 to 8% that Dr. Paul had polled with in the last week or so? Nevertheless, we are still very early in this fight, with elections to come that are much friendlier to our cause and our candidate. Dr. Paul did receive over 77,000 votes on Saturday - nearly 5x more votes than in the 2008 SC primary (16,155), and almost as many votes as the 2012 New Hampshire (56,848) and Iowa (26,036) contests combined! That is NOT a failure -Those are alot of changed minds! After all the results had been announced, Congressman Paul addressed a couple hundred local supporters and activists at his South Carolina Primary Night Party in Columbia. The Congressman touted the steady growth of our movement and reiterated his position on several issues involving government spending and the national debt, the Patriot Act and the Federal Reserve system. Ron Paul Weekly Update - January 14th thru January 21st

As you might expect going into the all-important South Carolina primary, coverage of the Ron Paul 2012 campaign has been hot and heavy in the past week. The last seven days have been strange, in that Rick Santorum has been pushed back into the headlines after the Iowa GOP has somehow determined that he actually won the caucus there, and the mainstream press (particularly Fox News and the neocon talk radio mafia) has hailed the rejuvenation of Newt Gingrich's campaign due to his windy performances in the two South Carolina debates. You have to be amused by such an arrogant insider like Gingrich bemoaning the "elitist media" for calling him to task for his life and record. And your average Republican just eats it up! The Congressman took a break from the campaign trail midweek to return to Washington and stand against yet another debt-ceiling increase, and to propose legislation that would repeal the most offensive sections of the NDAA. He then returned to the Palmetto State to rally the troops towards victory at the polls. The personal attacks were near constant. Neoconservative figurehead Bill Krystol made the rounds demanding that the Republican Party find a way to banish Ron Paul, while at the same time, other observers in the punditry acknowledged that any Republican nominee will have to have us on board if they hope to have a chance at beating Lord Obama in the general election. Strange Days Indeed! I will post a wrap-up/review of the South Carolina primary within the next day or two. Ron Paul Speaks at Aiken County Whistle Stop (1/20/2011)

Congressman Ron Paul rallied across the state of South Carolina on Friday, stopping in Warrensville (unincorporated Aiken, SC) for a Whistle Stop event. According to The Star-Telegram, at least 150 supporters packed Bobby’s BBQ to hear Dr. Paul's message of individual liberty and a limited federal government. Ron Paul Charleston GOP Debate Highlights (1/19/2012)

This file contains all of the statements, exchanges, and responses given by Dr. Ron Paul at Thursday's CNN Southern Republican Presidential Debate. The candidate forum was held at the North Charleston Coliseum, in Charleston, South Carolina- and the event was principally moderated by John King. Now that this campaign is down to the final four major contenders- the real debate can begin! The media can no longer ignore the candidate who actually advocates a different direction to government policy, right? That remains to be seen, as many are claiming that the Congressman was largely ignored in tonight's debate. And even the audience got restless with CNN's blatant disregard of our voices. 16th Republican Presidential Debate - Charleston, SC (1/19/2012)

Now this campaign gets serious! On Thursday night in Charleston, South Carolina the four remaining GOP presidential candidates faced off in the CNN Southern Republican Presidential Debate. John King moderated the candidate forum, which was held at the North Charleston Coliseum in the midst of the weekend-long Southern Republican Leadership Conference. The four participants stood at their podiums on the stage in the following order (from left to right): Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Ron Paul. This file includes the entire debate, made available free of charge to anyone interested. I only ask that the listener get to know Ron Paul!
